Workflow
A fast pick still needs to be the right part
Similar packaging, supplier numbers, superseded references, and vehicle applications make parts fulfillment more demanding than moving a box. A tote can reach packing on time while containing the wrong variant. The proposed integration should carry the approved item identity and quantity into the task, then return evidence of what was actually moved.
Workflow
Connect parts selection to tote delivery
Use catalog and fitment review to establish the sellable part before releasing warehouse work. Evaluate a vendor-supported mobile robot handoff from a picking station to packing or a wholesale dispatch area. Keep stock reservation, physical movement, packing confirmation, and shipment as separate business events; arriving at packing does not mean an order has shipped.
- Map your SKU, supplier part number, tote, source bin, and destination.
- Keep ACES application data and PIES product information upstream of movement decisions; neither is a robot control protocol.
- Route damaged parts, short picks, and core returns to a review location before releasing stock.
Workflow
Prove one workflow before expanding
Choose one parts family and a fixed pick-to-pack route. Test two similar SKUs, a short pick, an unavailable destination, and a returned core. Compare wrong-part exceptions, elapsed pick-to-pack time, and manual corrections against the current process. Expand only after staff can reconcile the tote, stock record, and order without guessing.
Workflow
What to confirm with 1XA and your hardware provider
1XA offers robotics integration planning around inventory, warehouse tasks, and operational priorities. The scenarios on this page are proposed workflows to evaluate, not claims of an installed connector or a completed customer robotics deployment. Device interfaces, record ownership, implementation work, and site acceptance must be confirmed for your installation.
- Bring the robot or fleet-system model, interface documentation, site constraints, and an anonymized task example.
- Agree completion evidence, human review, failure recovery, and implementation responsibilities. Robot safety and motion controls remain with the qualified hardware and site teams.
FAQ
Common Questions
Can robotics validate automotive fitment?
A robot movement confirmation is not fitment validation. Product and vehicle-application checks belong in the catalog and ordering workflow. Confirm the fitment data source and supported checks separately from the physical transport integration.
