Workflow
The dock needs more than a completed transport task
A distributor can have received pallets, held inventory, open picks, and staged shipments all in the same building. Treating every movement as available stock creates confusion. Mixed units, split orders, and carrier cutoffs make it especially important to distinguish where a load is from whether it is ready to sell or ship.
Workflow
Coordinate business priority and warehouse execution
Evaluate supported handoffs between 1XA inventory or WMS workflows and the fleet manager or warehouse execution system. A proposed task identifies the load, quantity, source, destination, and priority. The executing system returns accepted, in-progress, completed, or exception states that can be reconciled with the business task. Agree exactly when inventory changes ownership or location.
- Do not release inspection-held stock because a robot has delivered it.
- Map pallets, cases, and eaches explicitly before moving mixed loads.
- Require receiving or loading evidence before closing the corresponding business step.
Workflow
Prove one workflow before expanding
Choose receiving-to-putaway or picking-to-dock as the first route. Test a partial load, occupied destination, disconnected device, and a repeated completion message. Compare manual touches, dock dwell, and reconciliation errors against a normal shift. Demonstrate recovery without creating a second movement or silently losing the original task.
Workflow
What to confirm with 1XA and your hardware provider
1XA offers robotics integration planning around inventory, warehouse tasks, and operational priorities. The scenarios on this page are proposed workflows to evaluate, not claims of an installed connector or a completed customer robotics deployment. Device interfaces, record ownership, implementation work, and site acceptance must be confirmed for your installation.
- Bring the robot or fleet-system model, interface documentation, site constraints, and an anonymized task example.
- Agree completion evidence, human review, failure recovery, and implementation responsibilities. Robot safety and motion controls remain with the qualified hardware and site teams.
FAQ
Common Questions
Is an AMR fleet manager the same as a WMS?
They have different responsibilities. WMS organizes warehouse work and inventory records; a fleet manager coordinates robot execution. Confirm which system owns assignment, routing, completion, and recovery for the proposed installation.
